Turning 25, and Other Mind-Boggling Things...
Each year up 'till now has felt like another day has past... blah blah blah, NO! I don't feel older!
It was not a change that I had geared up for, wished for, or even thought was possible. But this time around, when I woke up on the day of my birthday to get ready for lunch with my hubby and parents, I actually felt older. My thoughts and moods were different. I have always had a little meloncholy-ness on my birthday (thougth, I've tried very hard in the past to not feel that way) and this time around, from the literal minute I woke up April 7th 2012, I felt older.
Very strange, but very welcomed!
To more explicetly explain it, I feel like I have more of a right to be who I am without explaination. I'm determined to maintain and grow from here and develop those skills that I know God has given me to use on Earth for a more devine cause. Family and friends are not just cool, they are necessary for my ultimate happiness and sucess. I'm so very gratefull for the wonderfull time I have had in the past two days, staring with my birthday and then again on Easter. Kurt and I thank our lucky stars to have such close families who actually like eachother and get along on a regular basis!
Letter to my husband:
And to my dear, loving, husband, I could not ask for more. You are simply amazing. I am so blessed to call you my lifetime friend and partner. You spoil me to the bone, and for that, you have no one but yourself to blame! :) I enjoy every minute with you and am looking forward to the day when we sit in our rocking chairs on 50 acres of land thinking about our memories.
I could not ask for more.
I love you forever and always.
My eternal compainion and best friend.
I'm your's forever baby.
Love, Your quirky wife. (smelly cat, smelly cat)

Thinking of Spring!
This bedroom's colors are fab!
I love all the Spring flowers and their scent!
Great Spring table-scape idea.
Perfect salad for a light Spring meal!
Adding Spring-colored pieces around the house is a must!
Spring Cleaning, of course.
Beautiful sunny days that fill the house with lots of light!
Pink cake. Pink everything!
Today I went to the mall and bought my signature scent: So Pink from the Gap. (Apparently, I haven't been to the Gap or the mall enough because I literally walked into the store thinking 'Oh, they have cute stuff...what store is this?' What the what?) I haven't had So Pink in a very very long time. Hence, the previous 'what store is this' comment! I LOVE SO PINK! It immediately gave me spring fever and good feelings and great memories! Isn't weird how scents can do that? I'm loving it and am so glad to be reunited with my long lost signature scent! Do you have a signature scent? Are you thinking Spring yet? Happy Tuesday!

Black and White/ Weekend Exploring!
A non-decorating Friday post...life, in Black and White.
*On a side note, Kurt and I have been talking about what we will do when our kids get old enough to go on little dates. Kurt, "I'll drive them to the movies and make sure there is no touching at any point in time and the whole way there I'll play the song Sam Hall..." Wow, he's gonna be a no joke scary awesome dad! Love him so much more!
Gin and Tonic, anyone? |

Here are the lyrics to "Sam Hall"...'nuff said: After the jump!
By candlelight
Today I lit some candles throughout the apartment during plain daylight! This may be common to some, but I usually refrain until it's dark outside and more than just my lowly-self is wandering through the place. I enjoyed the scent and knowing that a type of "life form" (being fire) is present. Having the elements around you-water, fire, wind, sun-makes you (me) feel alive and not alone. I think that's why getting outside during the winter months is so important. You feel the wind, you may or may not see the sun...etc.
What do you think? Do you have a mini fountain around? Do you light candles during the day when you're alone? Do you go for walks to feel the sun and wind? I'm super excited to have this new discovery! :) It may seem silly but the elements really do make me feel less alone! Interesting.

Have a Fabulous Friday!
It seems that winter is settling in around the U.S today and it makes me all but curl up and read, eat, and nap all day. (Darn work and responsibility!)
Meanwhile grab a cup of thick hot chocolate and warm cinnamon rolls and check out some things from around the interweb~
Two new food blogs I just discovered! One, Two.

Two new food blogs I just discovered! One, Two.
I'm clearly hungry and on a food kick! But, I've never had lox and this looks simply diviiine!
Dancing with my husband, cheek to cheek=best moments in life, period.
The aforementioned cinnamon roll. Yeah, it's no joke.
Veil, Lily of the Valley, Feathers, just can't get any better. Look at those eyes!
The Best Open Faced Sandwich. Ever. What?
I have begun reading Goldie Hawn's book and it is very good so far....I'm sure I will be posting more about it, as it is about something that I hold very dear-children's health, happiness, and education.
And lest I forget-WE HAVE A NEW COUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pics soon to come, of course! I'm in love with it! Thank you Kurt, I love you!!!!
Have a Safe, Happy, Healthy, Food-filled Weekend! :)

Fake It 'Till You Make It...
Resolutions-I wasn't going to make a post about them, seems...obvious I suppose, however, for my own sake of typing them out and making them known in black and white, I'm writing this post in a 'fake it 'till you make it' mentality. For those unaware of 'fake it 'till you make it', it's a saying my mom (I'm sure others have said it too) has said throughout my life. It means, until you master something, fake it and act like you have, eventually you will master it. I've used this mentality in my adult life A LOT already! I've always felt that remembering to 'fake it 'till you make it' gave me an ability go beyond myself and my self proclaimed restrictions. I love this saying!
With that in mind, I have a list of resolutions that I will 'fake until I make'- though I'm not sure MY resolutions need to be faked. I actually think My resolutions CAN'T be faked. So anyway...
1. Remembering what's truly important- I don't really need to have an itinerary for my daily life, do I?
2. Learn to sew...better- I'd like to be able to not fake this anymore, I have too many talented friends and family to teach me the techniques!
3. Surround myself with things I love AND buy and eat more naturally- Beautiful things make me happy and I love the feeling of being as natural as possible, for human and nature's sake.
4. Go and Do- I don't really know how else to say it, but I want to just get up and go and do as much as possible. Travel, eat, play, read, canoe, camp, love, etc.
There it is! In black and white! :)

Let it Snow! Happy Holidays!
![]() |
Kurt has to do this for me often during the winter months...love it! :) |

Christmas lights make me so happy, can't wait to drive around and see them tomorrow. |
Christmas with my dad is very enjoyable because he still acts so much like a kid that it's hard not to get all excited yourself! :) Love you dad! I'm still holding out for our weather to turn cold and snowy, but the forecast doesn't say anything about being below 40 degrees the whole weekend so I don't think that's going to happen. One can only hope it does though...
Happy Holidays to you all! Hope it is one of peace, joy, laughter, friendship, and love.
